Explaining the Success
SPI, Inc is led by a hands-on president and owner, Suzanne Harper. With her years of experience on both sides of retail – as a merchandiser of in-store product branding and now as a developer and marketer of innovative products – she truly has always been able to tap into the pulse of the consumer market. SPI’s corporate headquarters is based in Dallas Texas. SPI also has offices in New York and Hong Kong. Its Hong Kong office is staffed with product development representatives, inspection personnel and an engineer. SPI’s Page Mill distribution center is also located in Dallas, servicing both large and small retailers. In addition, the office in Dallas has a staff that has worked together for more than 10 years and is knowledgeable of all sides of the business – from product development to customer service. Within this staff, SPI boasts a fully operating in-house graphics department that designs packaging and POP concepts. Also, our in-house advertising and public relations department work to increase awareness/publicity on all SPI product lines.
Working with Large Retailers
SPI has been shipping to the largest US retailers for over 10 years and has developed some of the most innovative OEM products for these retailers.
Why OEM?
OEM projects are beneficial for many reasons as follows:
Exclusivity – Have an eye-catching design that is unique to your store – resulting in individuality. Be the trendsetter in the market.
Direct Import Advantage – With OEM, SPI can offer a direct import program – giving you higher margins due to container quantities of goods. Product travels directly from factory to your DC – eliminating wasted days flowing through our warehouse – resulting in more timely delivery.
Buyers as Active Partners – Buyers utilize their creative side and more accurately communicate their customer base – resulting in even more ownership of their category.
The Process
Products are developed in collaboration with the merchandising department and the product development team. This collaboration is developed to bring the product to life.
SPI works with our factories and engineers – creating engineering drawings and prototypes for the merchandising teams’ approval
Adjustments can be made quickly and efficiently based on the critique of drawings and prototypes. This feedback is then incorporated and a final prototype is produced.
After the mold is produced production can begin in a timely manner.
Typical production time ranges between 30-45 days depending on type of product and season.
Goods ship direct to your DC!
